About NodeSource
NodeSource helps enterprises securely manage, monitor, and optimize Node.js applications. Its N|Solid platform gives engineering teams visibility and control over Node.js applications running in production.
Over the years, NodeSource has become part of the technology landscape at some of the world’s largest organizations - from global banks and technology companies to retailers, manufacturers and healthcare enterprises.
The Challenge
NodeSource has developers across thousands of companies interacting with its products, documentation, distributions, and repositories. But much of this activity happens outside traditional CRM systems, making it difficult to quantify the true scale and depth of its enterprise reach.
For leadership and investor conversations, NodeSource wanted to go beyond high-level traffic or adoption numbers. It needed a data-backed view of which companies were engaging, how large they were, what their developers were doing, and how frequently they were coming back.
How NodeSource Uses Reo.Dev
Reo.Dev gave NodeSource a way to turn thousands of previously fragmented developer interactions into a clear, account-level view of its enterprise footprint.
By connecting activity across its website, documentation, distributions, install commands, and repositories with company-level intelligence, NodeSource could finally answer not just how much activity was happening, but who was behind it and what they were actually doing.
Analyzing Nearly 15,000 Companies with Reo MCP + Claude
With close to 15,000 companies showing activity across NodeSource's ecosystem, having access to the data was only the first step. The bigger challenge was making sense of it at scale.
NodeSource connected Reo.Dev's MCP server with Claude, allowing the team to query and analyze its Reo data directly through AI. Instead of manually pulling thousands of account records and piecing together the story, the team could use Claude to investigate Reo's data, compare signals, identify patterns and surface the insights that mattered.
The result was a 15-page evidence pack for leadership and investor conversations, providing a data-backed picture of NodeSource's enterprise footprint - who was engaging, how large those companies were, what their developers were doing, how deeply they were engaging, and where NodeSource overlapped with competing technologies.
The analysis surfaced four particularly powerful dimensions of NodeSource's enterprise footprint:
- Quantifying the Scale of NodeSource’s Enterprise Footprint: The first unlock was simply understanding the scale of NodeSource’s reach.
Over a 12-month period, Reo.Dev identified close to 15,000 companies engaging with NodeSource, including 2,066 companies with more than $1 billion in revenue and 697 with more than $10 billion in revenue.
This included developers from some of the world’s largest organizations, including Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Samsung, JPMorgan, IBM, Cisco, Oracle, Boeing, Intel, Visa, Ford, Siemens and SAP.
Instead of relying on aggregate traffic or download numbers, NodeSource could now put company names, scale and firmographic context behind its developer footprint.
- Going Beyond Interest to Show Actual Product Usage:
But knowing which companies had encountered NodeSource was only part of the picture. The team wanted to understand what developers at those companies were actually doing.
Reo.Dev helped NodeSource distinguish lightweight engagement, such as visiting a page, from much stronger actions such as reading deployment documentation or executing an N|Solid install command.
Across the same 12-month period, 1,688 companies executed the N|Solid install command, including 315 billion-dollar companies and 141 companies with more than $10 billion in revenue.
For leadership and investor conversations, this created a much stronger story: NodeSource could demonstrate not just awareness among large enterprises, but observable developer actions that indicated hands-on engagement with its technology.
- Showing the Depth and Frequency of Enterprise Engagement
Reo.Dev also helped NodeSource understand which companies were repeatedly engaging across multiple parts of its ecosystem.
More than 350 companies showed three or more distinct behaviors, such as visiting distribution pages, executing install commands, exploring N|Solid deployment documentation, visiting upgrade pages, signing into the product, or engaging with relevant GitHub repositories. Of these, 150 were billion-dollar businesses.
The team could also quantify how frequently individual enterprises returned. One org, for example, generated nearly 1,900 recorded events over 12 months - more than 36 per week!
- Adding Competitive Context
The same intelligence also helped NodeSource understand where its enterprise footprint intersected with competitive products and commercial opportunities.
Reo.Dev identified 1000+ companies that engaged with a competitor’s GitHub repository while also engaging with NodeSource.
For NodeSource, this made an otherwise invisible part of its market position measurable: the organizations where developers were actively engaging with both NodeSource and competing technologies.
For Nodesource, the biggest unlock was being able to access and analyze this depth of developer intelligence without manually piecing it together.
“Without using Reo, we wouldn’t have been able to get this data. Having the MCP with Claude, where I can give it access and it can just go and do the analysis for me, is everything.” — Braden Whitman, Strategic Advisor, NodeSource
